I need rehab work – How will Pilates help me?

One of the very positive attributes of Pilates is its flexibility. When used for rehabilitation, your Pilates exercises will be specifically modified into very simple, small and gentle movements. As your strength and mobility increase, the exercises will slowly and carefully increase towards the goal of regaining a full range of mobility, stability and strength.

Pilates is now considered one of the best therapies with regard to rehabilitation. It is prescribed by doctors and other medical practitioners to aid in relieving pain, speeding recovery from surgery and injuries, aiding recovery from strokes and other neurological traumas and even to avoid the neccesity of surgery.

Regular Pilates is widely acknowledged as an important tool for regaining strength, flexibility, muscle tone and overall endurence after an illness or injury and it can help overcome some limiting disabilities. With one of our instructors and with your doctors supervision (when neccesary), practising Pilates will help you to restore and repattern body movement, reduce and hopefully even eliminate acute or chronic pain, recover your full range of movement after surgery and protect injured joints and muscles from further damage or reinjury.
